About 95 percent of San Francisco high school seniors passed exit exams last year

San Francisco Unified School District
About 95 percent of San Francisco high school seniors passed the state’s graduation exams last year, according to numbers the California Department of Education released today.

The passage rate, which was about the same as last year, was based only on students who had enough credits to graduate.

Students take the California High School Exit Exam for the first time in 10th grade. If they don’t pass that year, they get two more chances during their junior year and another five tries as seniors.

Passing the test, which has math and reading sections, is a requirement for graduation.
