San Francisco Unified School District students entering 10th through 12th grades next fall are encouraged to apply for a two-week intensive writing camp this summer at 826 Valencia.

The nonprofit hosts its annual Young Authors' Workshop each summer to give students an opportunity to team up with professional writers, poets and spoken word artists to receive support in developing their literary voices.

There are spots for 25 students at the camp. Preference is given to students attending SFUSD high schools.

Per 826 Valencia, the workshop is open to:

Enthusiastic young people entering grades 10 through 12
Students excited to participate in a creative and supportive community of peers
Students who find writing a challenging task and are interested in developing their writing skills
Students from all over the Bay Area, though priority is given the students enrolled in SFUSD schools.

Apply here for the 2018 Young Authors’ Workshop!
