Spring break activities for families

Families enjoying a park

Spring break is just around the corner. If you’re staying in town, there are plenty of activities that are fun for the whole family that week!

  1. Visit a public library! Events are happening all week, from storytime to playtime to film screenings to art projects, at branches all over the City.
  2. Visit a museum! Did you know that visitors ages 17 and under always receive free admission to the permanent collection galleries at the Legion of Honor and de Young Museum? Also, for San Francisco residents, general admission to the de Young and Legion of Honor will be free every Saturday starting April 6.
  3. Visit a park! Spring is a great time to get outside and into a garden. The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department offers free outdoor events all week, like Mobile Rec at Potrero Hill Playground on March 30. This free event features recreation opportunities like rock climbing, BMX biking, skateboarding and more.
