Learning didn't stop at SFUSD this summer! Check out some highlights from inside and outside classrooms all over the district:

  • Students explore their creativity in Middle School Summer Arts Program
More than 150 students in the Middle School Summer Arts Program participated in the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Middle School Summer Arts Program at Everett Middle School.
  • Black Star Rising program elevates student learning
92 students participated in this year’s Black Star Rising STEM (BSR) program, which helps prepare rising African American 9th, 10th, and 11th graders for STEM careers through direct math and science instruction, career exposure, credit recovery, early college coursework, and an introduction to workplace readiness skills.
  • Summer ‘Learning Lab’ educates both teachers and students
SFUSD Pathway to Teaching launched a “Learning Lab” this summer to prepare Multiple Subject and Bilingual Spanish teacher candidates. The Learning Lab incorporates high-quality modeling, practice teaching, and real-time coaching from experienced SFUSD teacher leaders.
