Scholarship amount: $2,000 (6 scholarships available)

To honor graduating seniors who exemplify the characteristics in the SFUSD Graduate Profile, the Superintendent’s 21st Century Award will go to six SFUSD seniors demonstrating a particular strength in one or more of the characteristics of the Graduate Profile. This scholarship is available to all senior students regardless of citizenship status.

We want each San Francisco student to be ready to succeed in the 21st century. SFUSD is committed to helping all students develop strong academic knowledge and skills, as well as a host of dispositions and behaviors, that increase their curiosity and engagement, activate their full potential for learning, and prepare them for life, work, and study beyond their secondary school years. Our goal is for SFUSD students to reflect the Graduate Profile, each in their own unique way, by the time they graduate.

Your checklist for a complete application:
• Step 1: Prepare your essay, in less than 1,000 words, describing how you exemplify one of the characteristics in the Graduate Profile and how SFUSD supported your development in this area (we know you may exemplify several but please select only one for this essay).
• Step 2: Prepare two letters of recommendation.
• Step 3: Fill out an application form online and attach your essay and letters of recommendation (must log in with a Gmail or SFUSD email account).
